Our Fireproofing Services

EJAD applies tested and certified intumescent coating systems to structural steel, providing fire resistance ratings from 30 to 180 minutes in full compliance with Saudi Civil Defense requirements. We are approved applicators for Jotun, Hempel, and Jazeera Paints intumescent systems — meaning every application is backed by the manufacturer.

We apply water-borne, solvent-borne and epoxy-base intumescent coatings to structural steel members including I/H sections, hollow sections, and built-up profiles. All systems are applied in strict accordance with Certifire-approved specifications and manufacturer technical datasheets.

Cementitious fireproofing involves the application of a cement-based mixture to surfaces, providing fire resistance. The mixture comprises cement, aggregates, fibers, and additives that work together to create a protective layer. Cementitious fireproofing is known for its durability, as it can withstand high temperatures and physical impacts. This technique is commonly used in commercial buildings, tunnels, and offshore structures.

EJAD applies fireproofing spray systems to steel structures, concrete surfaces, and complex geometries where brush or roller application is not practical. Our teams operate industrial-grade airless spray equipment from GRACO, TITAN, BRUSS and WAGNER — purpose-built for high-volume intumescent coating application at scale, ensuring consistent DFT and finish quality across large project areas.

Proper surface preparation is the foundation of any coating system. EJAD teams carry out abrasive blasting to Sa 2.5 standard using industrial-grade equipment, removing rust, mill scale, and existing coatings to achieve the required surface profile for optimal coating adhesion. Without correct surface preparation, even the best coating system will fail prematurely.

Protective & Anti-Corrosion Coating

EJAD supplies and applies full protective coating systems for structural steel, industrial equipment, pipework, and concrete surfaces. Systems are selected to meet project-specific corrosion category requirements in accordance with ISO 12944, covering surface preparation, primer, intermediate, and topcoat layers. We work with approved systems from Jotun, Hempel, Sherwin Williams, International, and BASF.

Blasting Services

Surface preparation is the most critical factor in the performance and longevity of any coating system. EJAD operates a full range of blasting equipment and techniques to meet the specific requirements of each project — from large structural steel fabrication scopes to sensitive on-site maintenance works. All blasting operations are supervised by qualified inspectors and documented in accordance with project ITPs.

EJAD carries out abrasive blasting to Sa 2.5 standard using steel grit and other approved abrasive media. Our equipment is industrial-grade and purpose-built for large-scale structural steel preparation, achieving the correct surface profile (Rz) required for each coating system. All blasting operations are carried out in compliance with ISO 8501-1 cleanliness standards.

Shot blasting uses high-velocity steel shot to clean and profile metal surfaces, particularly effective for structural steel fabrication yard work. EJAD operates shot blasting equipment for preparing steel members prior to the application of primer and intumescent coating systems, ensuring consistent surface cleanliness and profile across large tonnage projects.

Soda blasting uses sodium bicarbonate media to gently clean and prepare surfaces without damaging the substrate. It is particularly effective for removing coatings from aluminium, fibreglass, and other delicate materials. EJAD offers soda blasting for specialist applications where conventional abrasive methods would cause surface damage.

EJAD utilises high-pressure water blasting for surface cleaning and preparation on existing structures, tanks, and concrete surfaces where dry abrasive blasting is not permitted. Water blasting is particularly effective for removing deteriorated coatings, salt contamination, and biological growth without generating abrasive waste on sensitive or occupied sites.

Dry ice blasting uses compressed CO₂ pellets to clean surfaces without leaving residue or moisture, making it ideal for sensitive equipment, electrical installations, and areas where wet or abrasive methods are not suitable. EJAD offers dry ice blasting as a specialist cleaning solution for industrial and commercial facilities across Saudi Arabia.
